American Association for Cancer Research was founded in 1907 by a group of 11 physicians and scientists interested in cancer research in the Washington, DC. Today, the AACR is the largest professional organization in the world with a membership of 37 000 researchers from 108 countries. This year, AACR Annual Meeting was organized from the 1th to 5th of April in the birthplace of the organization.
...I am grateful to the Norsk Biokjemisk Selskap for the support and opportunity to attend that meeting. Nowadays, AACR Annual Meeting gathers researchers to provide research programs and services expedite the spread of new research findings, promotes science education and training to prevent and treat cancer. Cancer is a generalized name of the more than 200 diseases. The meeting program started with social activity such as "The AACR Runners 5K Run/Walk" to join all participants and their friends and family members to raise funds for cancer research and enjoy a run timing with the sun rises over the American nation's capital.
